About Kappa Delta
Kappa Delta Sorority was founded in 1897 at State Female Normal School, now Longwood University, in Farmville, Va. The thought that 125 years ago four young women could just sit down and create a sisterhood as enduring as Kappa Delta sometimes defies understanding, but that's exactly what they did.
Today, Kappa Delta is an impressive nationwide organization that reaches far beyond the local chapter. We have more than 300,000 initiated members, 168 active collegiate chapters across the country and over 200 alumnae chapters across the country. Led by an elected National Council, hundreds of national volunteers and a professional staff numbering over 50, we have a network of sisters and friends around the world who come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
Together, Kappa Deltas impact the lives of members and those in need around the world. Contributions to the Kappa Delta Foundation from alumnae, collegians and friends of Kappa Delta enable the sorority to further its philanthropic efforts, providing support for the sorority’s national philanthropies, numerous local community outreach programs, as well as scholarships and educational opportunities for members.
We have chosen to become Kappa Deltas because we believe that, in some way, all of us can be better together than each of us can be alone. That is the strength of Kappa Delta.

About Delta Tau
Delta Tau was founded in Morehead, Kentucky on April 26, 1969. As an organization, we are home to 73 initiated members led by many outstanding women, including our governing council and chapter advisory board. We are a network of sisters who all come from different backgrounds and experiences, but have been brought together through our sisterhood in Kappa Delta. At Morehead State University, we've been honored to be named Sorority Chapter of The Year for 7 years in a row! Our chapter is known on campus for our avid participation in many events, including other Greek events, events with Campus Activities Board, collaborations with Baptist Campus Ministry, intramural sports, and much more!
